The International Border Area People’s Welfare Organization will be surveying border villages of Nagaland to identify skilled artisans. Aim of the survey is to provide financial and marketing assistance to these people to help improve their livelihood and maintain the traditional craft forms of the region.  Read more here.

Traditional art in India is under threat due to urbanization, industrialization, and migration. Amidst these factors,  retention of our various art forms seems quite a daunting task.  If the current trend continues, it will not be long before our art forms become extinct. Skilled artisans all over our country are in dire need of assistance.
