Canada-based International Development Research Centre (IDRF) today announced a grant of 1.1 million Canadian Dollars to M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), to support its coastal systems research. “The support is to improve MSSRF’s coastal system research and to intensify its work in rural knowledge management and village knowledge centres,” IDRC Senior Programme Officer (Asia) Basheerhamad Shadrach told reporters in Chennai. He said IRDC would provide technical advice to its Indian counterpart in this regard, he said.
